Course: (LOTO) Lock Out Tag Out Training

Course Summary:
OSHA requires that employees be trained on lockout policies and procedures. This training is provided to ensure that individuals understand the purpose and basic functions of controlling isolated energy and acquire the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of that energy. 

Course Objective:
The objective of this program is to create awareness and respect for the employees hazards associsated with the accidental release of stored energy and motivate employees to utilize best practices and procedures to properly lockout and tagout equipment to ensure their safety. 

Learning Objective:
After completing this course, students will be able to understand:
  • When and where the standard applies
  • OSHA Lockout/Tagout procedures for energy control
  • The duties of authorized, affected and other employees
  • The difference between lockout and tagout
  • The different types of procedures and supplies that are available
  • How to apply best practices
Written Exam:
The written exam will be provided at the end of the course. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with the class as a whole to ensure understanding before completion of course.
