Course Summary: This training module is designed to teach you preventive measures that will eliminate or minimize the causes of fire or fire hazards in the workplace, and to teach students proper emergency and evacuation procedures in the event of a fire. 

Course Objective: To eliminate the causes of fire and prevent loss of life and property by fire. The course objective is to provide students with information and guidelines which will assist in recognizing, reporting and controlling as well as eliminating the causes of fires and fire hazards. 

Learning Objective:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Understand the major causes of fires in the workplace
  • Learn how to prevent fires
  • Look for possible fire hazards and report them
  • Be aware of fire safety devices in the workplace
  • Understand the purpose of egress routes
  • Know what to do if a fire breaks out
  • Learn ho to evacuate quietly and calmly. 
Written Exam: Written and hands on exam will be evaluated at the end of the course. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with the class as a whole to ensure understanding before completion of the course. 

Documentation: Sign in sheets are required to document the number of students that will receive a certificate of completion. Please allow up to 48 hours notice on class sizes greater than 30.
